There are two minimum requirements for civilization: a sewage system to carry away wastewater, and a consistent and reliable water supply system to provide water for drinking, bathing, and irrigation. A water supply system consists of several components. These include a source of water (groundwater, freshwater pond or lake, man-made reservoir, etc.), a system to extract and transport water (groundwater wells, aqueducts, or water pipelines), a facility to treat the water so as to remove impurities and make it potable before use, and a water storage system that holds excess water and provides for periods of low water supply or evens out flows during periods of variable usage.

Urbanization and concomitant challenges pose a great threat to sustainable development. Urban and rural development interacts through the flows of people, materials, energy, goods, capital, and information. Without building sound urban–rural linkages, achieving development in one area could compromise it in another area. Achieving sustainable development needs customized policy prioritization and implementation in both urban and rural areas.
Sustainable Development Goal 11 on sustainable cities and several targets embedded under other Goals provides a good framework for analyzing the urban–rural linkages and we work to achieve and make this possible.

Roads are designed in conjunction with design guidelines and standards. These are adopted by national and local authorities. Design guidelines take into account speed, vehicle type, road grade (slope), view obstructions, and stopping distance. With proper application of guidelines, along with good engineering judgment, an engineer can design a roadway that is comfortable, safe, and appealing to the eye. Khato Civils has a team of designer engineers in-house with many years of experience in this field.
With regard to geometric design of roads, we are primarily concerned with the positioning of the physical elements of the roadway according to standards and constraints. The basic objectives in geometric design are to optimize efficiency and safety while minimizing cost and environmental damage.
Geometric design also affects an emerging fifth objective called “livability,” which is defined as designing roads to foster broader community goals, including providing access to employment, schools, businesses and residences, accommodate a range of travel modes such as walking, bicycling, transit, and automobiles, and minimizing fuel use, emissions and environmental damage.
Road & Highway Construction supervision
Road construction requires the creation of an engineered continuous roadbed, overcoming geographic obstacles and having grades low enough to permit vehicle or foot travel whilst meeting standards set by official guidelines. At Khato Civils, we have mastered the art of construction roads and highways of the highest quality, but roads and highways that will be long lasting and require minimal maintenance. Storm drainage and environmental considerations are a major concern. Erosion and sediment controls are constructed to prevent detrimental effects. Drainage lines are laid with sealed joints in the road easement with runoff coefficients and characteristics adequate for the land zoning and storm water system
Structural design is the methodical investigation of the stability, strength and rigidity of structures. If the structures is improperly designed or fabricated , or if the actual applied loads exceed the design specifications, there might be possible serious consequences. Our basic objective in structural analysis and design is to produce a structure capable of resisting all applied loads without failure during its intended life.
